--Leaders in Security Solutions and Activity Monitoring Technology Join Forces to Provide Seniors with Safe, Independent Living at Home

SARASOTA, FL and NEW YORK  -- October 31, 2006--Telemetry Systems, Inc. (TSI), a leading systems integrator and provider of home and business security solutions, and Living Independently Group, Inc., makers of QuietCare®, a revolutionary monitoring system that enables seniors and other at-risk individuals to live with greater safety and independence, announced TSI’s appointment as a National Master Distributor for QuietCare®. 

As a National Master Distributor, TSI, through its established partnership with Security Associates International, Inc. (SAI), will make the QuietCare system and monitoring services available to SAI’s nationwide safety and security dealer network.  Once certified through TSI and Living Independently Group, SAI-affiliated dealers will provide local sales, installation and maintenance services for the QuietCare system.

QuietCare helps seniors and those at risk live independently by providing their caregivers with round-the-clock information about their safety and well-being.  Placed throughout the home, QuietCare’s non-intrusive wireless sensors monitor seniors’ patterns of daily activity, and when changes in key behaviors and movements are detected, the system issues alerts to the caregiver.  Like an “engine warning” light that signals potential car trouble, QuietCare alerts can indicate developing health problems or emergencies.  The system monitors when seniors awaken, potential bathroom falls, medication handling, meal preparation, overall activity and dangerously high or low home temperature—without the use of intrusive cameras or audio equipment. 
All systems will be supported with 24-hour monitoring by SAI from their UL-Rated, geographically dispersed monitoring centers. In case of an emergency such as a possible bathroom fall, morning inactivity or extreme household temperatures, a specially trained emergency response operator will first call the senior and, if needed, designated family members, caregivers or local emergency services.  The system detects emergencies even if the senior cannot call for help on their own.
